Moving & Storage Squad LLC

Moving & Storage Squad was hired through broker. They asked for reasonable deposit based on $3500 estimate, move of about 1400 miles. Their estimate was based on cubic square foot of space. Day before move they wanted double the price. There was even less square cubic footage of belongings than what was estimated. When movers showed up they wanted triple the price. I was stuck between rock and hard place since the first day of work was in a couple of days. Movers showed up in Budget truck. They did not identify who they were, it seemed they were another moving company. A phone call confirmed that they were the movers. The movers when asked would not say themselves that they represented the Moving & Storage Squad. They have not delivered as of a year and 3 months. They have received more $ than the estimate. They have ignored three certified letters asking for a delivery date. They want more money to deliver. They did not even take all my belongings. Signing off on their paperwork seemed very intimidating by the movers and they gave no reason for the price increase. There are a lot of complaints towards this company

Warning – the Moving & Storage Squad ( DOT# 3321368 ) are total SCAM artists!! Once we looked them up on the US Department of Transportation site for federal motor carrier safety, we discovered that as of July 4, 2021 the US Department of Transportation suspended their license to operate due to failure to meet proper insurance requirements – they are not a legitimate moving carrier, and are not allowed to perform interstate moves. When my wife discovered this, she called them and confronted them with the data – they lied saying it was old data, and assured us they were still in operation. After continuing to check the US DOT FMCSA website and seeing no change to the Out of Service status, we called back asking for a refund on our $1,100 deposit. The person on the phone immediately said “you need to call the bank” .. she didn’t even pretend there was a refund process - these guys are simply scamming people out of their deposits, and letting the credit card companies deal with the defrauded consumers. I recommend you stay far away from Moving & Storage Squad!!

I just had a worst ever moving experience with this company (Moving & Storage Squad LLC). I booked the service in July 2021 for moving from Virginia to Texas, with scheduled pickup date as 9/10 and delivery date as 9/13 or 9/14. The initial estimate price was $10341 and we paid the deposit of $2895 in July 2021. The nightmare began on 9/10 when the movers company (PRO MOVERS INC) came and asked us to sign another contract (at that time we knew this company was just a broker!), with the final price at $16106! Our inventory list was estimated at 1475cf, but the actual volume charged turned out to be 2350cf, and we had no choice but to pay $16106. So basically the broker lured you into a contract with a low estimated price and you would get a BIG surprise when it's too late to change mind. Yet the worst part was the delivery - the truck didn't come until about 5pm 9/15. There were many damages to the furnitures, and the movers simply dump the stuff in garage and first floor, they did NOT reassemble the furnitures (like beds, TV sets, sofa etc), and refused to move some furnitures (sofa, desk, dressers) to upstairs etc. We had to spend days to put the stuff back to where they should be. The movers company (PRO MOVERS INC) only accepts cash which should be a red flag.

Anyway, we are in the process of disputing the credit card charge. It's nightmare to use such horrible service.

Booked a move with moving and storage squad back in May they took my deposit of $1538 I was scheduled to move July 27/July 28 from Yuma Arizona to Florida my whole house was packed up and ready to go the driver apparently was not able to make my first date but they told me he would be there between 5 and 7 PM on July 28 7 PM came and went no phone call nobody answers the phone I got a phone call from Anna who did my inventory it was 10 o’clock at night her time Gee, I thought the office was closed at 8 PM Eastern time , really sketchy, so I went and called my bank got the deposits reversed and I’mGoing to be taking legal action against moving and storage squad apparently Christina Prinz was arrested 11 years ago in Fort Pierce Florida , for embezzlement of $150,000 she’s the one who booked my move these people are disgraceful they do not have a valid DOT number they are freight brokers and apparently have had their license revoked and cannot book any moves due to insurance reasons I should’ve been more careful and I’m sorry that everybody else has had the same problem do not use moving and storage squad they are a bunch of losers!!! This isn't even scratching the surface here, I had to be out of my condo by 7/31 due to the fact it was already rented, so I have to rent one of the last storage units available in Yuma, rent a u haul for 90.00 and pay a friend $300. to load and unload my stuff so we could get on the road. Now my things are still in Yuma, Az and we are on our way to Florida.

Oh, this is NOT over by any stretch of the imagination, the MOVING and STORAGE SQUAD messed with the wrong woman ! I am sick of being taken advantage of and they will have their KARMA you can count on it !!!!!

It is now August 3 I am at a hotel with only a suitcase all of my stuff is still in Yuma Arizona the moving and storage squad lied to my bank and said that when they got there I had more items than what was originally planned and it was gonna cost more to move me so I canceled the move they are liars they never showed up and believe me I’m filing a police report that’s what I was told to do so with that being said I’ll be back after the police report has been filed and something has been done Christina Prinz you’re going to meet your karma I promise you!

I paid a deposit of $975.25 to the broker. Later, a few days before the items were supposed to be picked up by the movers, the broker called me and said that the movers would be delayed a week in picking up the items. I said I wanted to cancel and get my deposit back. The broker said that there were no refunds, except that the deposit can be used for future moves. The broker forced me under duress to sign a new binding estimate with the new dates. So, if I did sign, I would be signing something I did not want to agree to. And if I refused to sign, my items would not be transported and I would lose my deposit.

As of the most recent binding estimate, the cost was supposed to be $2,732.60 according to the broker.

It should be noted that we told the brokers everything we were having transported. I expressed concern to the broker that I did not measure all the boxes and that perhaps the box size on the estimate is not big enough, and the broker said it was fine and that they added a buffer. The binding estimate also had almost double the boxes we were actually transporting, so that was also a buffer. The only extra item we transported which was not on the binding estimate was a table top 36x24x1.5 inches, and I instructed my mother to not transport the table top if it would result in greater cost. To conclude, I made sure that everything being transported (except the table) was accounted for.

When the movers came to pick up the things, I was already gone and my mother was the one interacting with the movers. The movers did not give her the "Your Rights and Responsibilities" document nor an arbitration policy. When the movers came, they loaded everything onto the truck. AFTER the truck was loaded, they said the charges would be over $4,000. We told them that was not what the binding estimate said, and the guy called his boss and lowered the price. The total moving price ended up being $3,200. They illegally had my mother sign a revised binding estimate AFTER the truck was loaded. The movers talked to my father on the phone, and my father told them to unload the truck immediately. My father says the movers hung up on him.

When the items were delivered and unpacked, I found that they put the boxes into larger boxes. Some boxes had a substantial amount of empty space in them.

Other notes:

The mover's documents do not have a definite date or date range for delivery. Rather, it just says "1st date available for delivery." This date is also not on the bill of lading.

It should be noted that the DOT number and company name on the bill of lading given by the movers is different from the DOT number and company name on the truck driven by the movers (which is also all separate from the broker's paperwork).

According to the DOT number on the truck (3321368), the carrier which was hired by Southern Guarantee is not authorized to operate according to https://safer.fmcsa.dot.gov/CompanySnapshot.aspx (but they may have been authorized when the move took place not long ago).

I don't think this company is fraudulent.. but I don't think they are very honest. They told me they were themselves a full service move company and provided a DOT and MC number. But upon further investigation both the DOT and the MC number were not registered to be a moving a company but a property one? According the the DOT code the company must be registered to move household goods, they are not. I did not get all of the information until my move day, even though I was told I would be called a few days before. At this time I learned they hired another company to come move me (something common, for a broker company, not a full service moving company). I called to say they violated the contract (contract stated no broker deals..) and that I wanted my deposit back. They put me on hold for 45 minutes and cancelled my contract. They then stated they will not be paying back my deposit because it was my choice.

Bottom line, it seemed to good to be true and it was. I didn't do my research and I got bit. If this review stops one person from going with this company then I did my part.

Also, pretty sure 98% of these reviews are fake.

My wife and I hired a moving company to come on the 30th but they canceled do due to what they said was weather. We had to be out of our apartment by the 31st. So on the 31st was our second date we spent until 4pm that day having this company tell us 6 different ways yes they were coming no they were not. Eventually they did come however it was at 8pm at night and it was because we had already packed most of our stuff. I am a disabled veteran with a heart condition we hired this company so that I wouldn't have to move our stuff because i cannot even physical work right now i ended up helping them move everything ontop of that we had to pack every individual item they provided 0 packing materials yet they want to charge us for packing. It is now a week later june 8th we have spent everyday (buisness days) trying to figure out when we are going to get our stuff because it was suppose to arrive which was agreed on june 2nd-3rd. They to this day havent even provided us with an estimated date of delivery and demanded more payment to even drive their get our stuff out of their warehouse that they have done nothing to it yet. They also wanted more money if we wanted it delivered earlier now. This company is holding our stuff hostage. My wife was suppose to start work yesturday the 7th but we couldnt because we packed everything with them we both only have 3 sets of cloths and well oviously no furniture or anything. I am desperate at this point we have tried talking to a supervisor at the company they put us on a 72 hour hold so we could talk to one that was last tuesday to this day we still cannot talk to any form of management. Their is 1 soul their who has a concious and he doesnt even no how to contact a manager and hes even trying to leave the company because in his short time here he has hearrd of this problem concurringly. I will pay a small fee or whatever it takes to get this company finally investigated for the shady crap they pull with their customers. Their customers mean nothing its all about the buck and they lie on the line which is why we are also trying to find a lawyer to take the case in order to hopefully be able to protect us from this company at this point. They are a complete Scam. I agree with The prior review from Jennifer Phi. Before I signed the agreement I confirmed TWICE with cecil if i was able to pay w/ credit card the remaining balance he said yes. That was the only Reason I signed. The movers called the day prior to tell me they only take cash. I called back to cxl and get a refund. They are refusing to give me a refund because I didnt call 72 hrs prior. When the moving company called me a day prior to give me a date when they will come. Complete nightmare

They will lie to you to get your business. They were 4 days late picking up our stuff. I asked for my money back and the next day they showed up unnannounced. Then they wanted to charge an extra $1,000--we got them down to an extra $600 (they said we had measured wrong). It's now been almost 3 weeks since then and I just found out the stuff is still sitting in a warehouse in the town where they picked it up. When I talk to them on the phone I can't get a straight answer about anything. I've been on hold for at least 12+ hours over the last few weeks trying to talk to someone there. They seem to be a broker that works with a bunch of movers. I had to give a star but I wouldn't give any stars. This is definitely a company to stay away from.

Moving&StorageSquad didn't show up BOTH DATES of the contract. I called-the day before & was told the driver would be there tomorrow. No call received from driver, customer service phone rings/no one answers. 2nd day I was “promised” the truck would be there 4-7pm. NO call, NO driver on the 2nd day. Customer service person hung up on me. Waited 3rd day, customer service "promised" the movers would be there that day. Called many times on 3rd day, no answer/phone rings and NO DRIVER arrived. Waited 3 days for them to pick up with customer service not answering phone or hanging up. My furniture was not moved! Working to get a refund and they will not answer calls or emails. 11 days since our contact, NO SERVICE and waiting for a refund. We do not believe they have any trucks. Sales will be aggressive to have you book and pay 50% down and then you will not hear from the company again. DO NOT USE!

Absolute worst service. I am writing this review and still waiting on my belongings 5 days later than when they were supposed to arrive. I was given an estimate that was over $1200 LESS than what it is actually costing me. When you call in to talk to someone at their company, you get the runaround, no answers or just being hung upon. A "customer service agent" by the name of Kaitlyn Anderson even called me "Honey" when I called in to get an update on my move and told me I should be lucky and grateful that I am even getting it that early. They are liars and thieves and I would suggest anyone who is thinking of using them to RUN. Pay the extra money upfront for a legitimate business and who won't treat you and your belongings like absolute garbage.

This is the SHORT VERSION. Called multiple times the day before the move to ask for an ETA. Kept being told I'd get a call. Never got one. I called the morning of the move and was told that they "decided" to utilize the back-up date (the next day) and got an ETA of 3-6pm. By 5pm had still not heard from the driver. I call again. Customer service tells me that the ETA is now 5-7pm (it's now already 5:30pm). Was told they were delayed due to traffic. Get a call at 6pm stating the truck is broken down and the soonest they can move me is TWO DAYS FROM NOW. I told them this is unacceptable. Person I talked to tried to convince me that I was wrong about the original moving date, that I didn't have text messages confirming the moving date (when I actually did), and that my deposit would not be refunded because the broken truck wasn't their fault. She was so extremely condescending. I made other arrangements at the last minute with a U-Haul and local movers because I'll never do business with them ever again. Please save yourself the trouble.

I scheduled a move with this business on May 24th. The move was to happen from California to Washington. I told the agent who I spoke with to plan the move that I wanted to prioritize the delivery date of June 28th, and was willing to work backwards to ensure that date. She told me that a pickup date of June 25th would mean that I would be able to receive my move on June 28th. The movers did not come to pickup until June 27th. I understand that sometimes delays of a few days happen. I was told on pickup to expect my dropoff within 4-5 days. It is now July 6th, eight days after my expected delivery date, and they have yet to give me even an estimated delivery date. The only things that I know are that my furniture is still in California, and that it *might* be loaded onto a truck later this week. The company has been opaque and non-communicative. The only way I've been able to get any information is from being the one to call them. I am living on an air mattress and my back hurts.

They were great at packing my desk. However when they got to the house they asked for $300 more than what was on the quote and then another $300 when I got it. They knew I had a plane to catch so that's why I had to pay them. I had the cashiers check already but had to find $300 extra dollars on a Sunday when I had to catch a plane. I was moving a desk from Texas to Massachusetts. When they got to Massachusetts they wanted to deliver on a Sunday but no banks were open so I couldn't get a cashier's check. Their customer service number was disconnected.

This company is a complete scam. Initially when we found them online, their reviews seemed good. Initial quote over the phone was reasonable so we made an initial deposit. A week prior to our move dates, June 10 and 11, they called again to go over the quote again. Surprise surprise, but the quote doubled to over 9K so we were told to make a second deposit. We were told the movers would call us the night prior to June 10 but NO phone call. We probably called a zillion times that day to ask where the movers were but we got lied to every time and got told a different story. June 11 again, NO show. On Saturday we were told they would show up on Sunday but again, NO show. We were at our wits end by Monday morning, the day before we had to turn in our key and called again. They said the movers would show up at 4 PM. They never showed up so we ended up moving everything ourselves into the garage of family and now have to find a different moving company. When I called on June 15 to request my $3200 deposit back they said I could not get it if I had filed a dispute with my CC company. Till this day, I still have to recover my 2 deposits and this company did not deliver ANY service, besides complete headaches. Do not hire them.

Took deposit and had the best quote I could find for a long-distance move. Weekend before pickup (planned for Monday), they moved the pickup to Tuesday afternoon which was the backup. Tuesday during the pickup window, I asked for update, they said Wednesday morning. Wednesday morning they said afternoon, then evening, then no show. Thursday morning I asked for update, they got very rude with me and said they won't keep lying to me (their words) and that they couldn't get a mover to me for another 4-5 days, when I start working the following Tuesday! They then canceled on me and said they'll issue a full refund. Fully expect to have to stay on top of them for that though. Very poor communication and will not update you, you have to reach out for the updates. Avoid at all costs, otherwise you will be like me, scrambling to find new movers very last minute and having to pay extra due to the last minute nature.

If I could give this joke of a company 0 stars I would. As well as richard and Julian. Nun but jokes! They want the money ASAP and once you pay they are always in meetings. Our date to move was the 30th with them knowing we had to be out by the 1st. 30th came and they no call no showed when we called they beat around the bush and left us on hold. They start off with like $3,200 and bs you down to $2,200. We paid $980 for a deposit and never heard back. The 1st came and they said they had a domestic dispute and couldn’t make it after being told the truck was almost there. Richard is a joke as well as Julian. Anyways they never showed up and wanted to keep the deposit. Do not use these bums they are a SCAM. Once they get the money they go ghost. We will get our money back we are not worried about that. Phony people that work for that company. DO NOT USE THEM. They blocked our number after we asked for our deposit back. Richard out of all of them has to be the biggest fraud and bum. Richard has been in a meetings since the 28th today is the 1st.

Showed up late to move my furniture in a small rental truck. I had to rent a u-haul to carry 1/3 of my own furniture and a trailer to haul my motorcycle. They promised to drop my furniture off on July 17th then advised they had two weeks drop off after originally given a move in date of July 17th . Individuals at company were rude and told me I would just have to wait to be called by a driver. What driver? I’m now moved into a new home sleeping on the floor because of this so called fly-by-nice company. I’m a retired Investigative Detective and State Certified Polygraph Examiner. Trust me and do not do business with these people. Additionally and significantly important, they broke numerous items while packing their Penske rental truck and required me to purchase a U-Haul truck and trailer for my motorcycle. I intend to seek renumeration and initiate a lawsuit if necessary.

Everyone writing reviews saying they didn't show - we have been doing some digging and they are currently "out of service" on the FMCSA website. That may be why you've been abandoned.

Go there and file a legit complaint! We are in the middle of a disaster move with them and currently trying to get the location of our stuff. They brokered it out to Alpine/Sunrise Van Lines without our knowledge and we have attempted to terminate delivery as we have been learning nightmare stories of people waiting 4-5 months only to be scammed for thousands more dollars. They are currently holding our stuff in storage and will not disclose where. Our piano is still sitting in our neighbors garage and we are pretty confident many of our belongings will be broken/damaged. They are now trying to get us to wire them extra money. We are calling multiple times a day, filing complaints everywhere possible, and have even contacted the police for further investigation as we are now considering this extortion/straight up theft. Do yourself & us a favor and go to all lengths to wake them up. Also contact your credit card company to dispute the charge since the service was not performed. Trevor Voltolino booked our move but all the names there seem to be interchangeable. There's Tammy, Sharon, Marvin, Jecka, Tina, and then you get moved over to Yaron Mishkin & Jack Levy with Alpine/Sunrise who will scream at you for more money and say they "don't care what the "contract" says". Also the spot on your "binding estimate" that tells you how to file a claim has been falsified. They do not have an account with movingclaims.net so save your time on that and take it straight to US DOT. I'm convinced any good reviews here are their own or a mistake in the company name by the people who moved, there is no way this company should have a single star. Unbelievable.

Anyone but this company. Scam artists. Google the hdqtrs in Rochester, it's a run down house. Gave them a deposit and established the 2 day window. Never showed. They're not a shipper. Shipper they use called and couldn't come for 4 days after established dates. Not fun if you have to move out by a specific date. Call them, you go on hold. Asked for refund and their accounting dept. refused saying credit card company has to go after them. Never talk to a guy named Cody if your in Florida, no where to be found when things go south.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I wish I would have done more research. I found other reviews WARNING (even referring to Moving & Storage as a SCAM) people about Moving and Storage LLC AFTER giving them $3000. M&S was off by 50% on their estimate/quote (estimate based on inventory list that was reviewed 3 times)

The quote was for $8878 on moving day it went up to $15,663. I gave my moving representative, Casey, an up-to-date inventory list multiple times during process but it was never updated so the amount was DOUBLE when movers showed up. The truck was NOT large enough so we could not complete move EVEN if we weren't upset with extreme increase in price. They HIRED a 3rd party LOCAL moing company (even thou they tell you the movers are employeed by them storage is owned by them). The movers WERE NOT out of state movers even though our move was 1,200 miles away. The local movers that M&S hired spoken spanish so numerous communication break-downs. The local movers had the wrong moving date, no inventory list, had no idea there was a second/extra stop INCLUDED in the quote. They charged us $400 for "supplies" like extra tape!!! Even though I asked Casey from M&S up front if I needed to supply tape, blankets, and tv boxes. Was told included in estimate. The drivers called the night before said they would arrive 12 noon but showed-up at 7:30AM so the elevator was not scheduled. Any text message or VM left for Casey was NEVER returned about the problems happening. I was told she was out of office when I tried her cell phone. We ended up having to put our things into a storage looker so we could rehire an interstate moving company that would do an accurate estimate and provide a creditable mover with the correct size truck.

The entire experience after the "sales pitch" to gain our business was a NIGHTMARE. I have no idea how Moving and Storage continues to stay in business. They seem so nice and helpful at the front end but I swear it was like dealing with an entirely different company once the move was scheduled to happen. This "company" JUST WANTS YOUR MONEY!!!

Booked this company for my move from NV to OK. I was contacted by JOSH 5153816803 to give me a quote, he quoted me $2700 for the move . they asked for a deposit of $1200. We gave them the CC and they ended up charging us $2400. We asked for a refund for $1200 and they stated they refunded us the full $2400 and provided a transaction ID. We waited a full 10 BD for the refund to hit the bank. Meanwhile we paid the deposit for $1200 on another card to make sure the move was still scheduled. I then asked them bout the $2400 refund. they said it and gave me another transaction ID. then they refunded the $1200 from my other card. Supposedly having given me all my money back- i called and asked them why they did that as we still needed to pay the deposit- they then said oh don't worry we will use the first $2400 as a deposti and you will owe $1000 at pickup(they quoted $2700 total)- wait a second, didn't they already refund that $2400? they provided me with a transaction ID stating so!!

The "finance" department consists of the same 2 horrible women who will text me " we have refunded your money for the 80th time!!" or will yell and talk over you when you call them out. tina (310)929-7751. they promised to email me receipts of everything and failed to do so every time.

they never refunded the $2400, we disputed this with our bank and unfortunately they weren't able to get us the money back.

Now they dodge all my phone calls, hang up when i call, put me directly on hold, or transfer me around.

We have contacted the police in NV, but please whatever you do do not use these people. Its a scam.
